Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day1

Nairobi to Old Moses Camp (3,300 m)

After pick-up in Nairobi, drive north to Nanyuki, where the cook and porters join the team, then continue for about an hour to the Sirimon Gate (2,650 m), where the trek begins. After checking in with the park authorities, you hike through the forest with your guide, cook and porters to Old Moses Camp (3,300 m), arriving in the afternoon.

Distance: 9 km · about 3 hours walking

Day2

Old Moses Camp to Shipton Camp (4,200 m)

After breakfast, hike across the moorland, looking out for high-altitude plants, wildlife and birds, then up the Mackinder Valley to Shipton Camp (4,200 m) at the foot of the main peaks. Take it slowly – pole pole, as the guides say – to help your body adjust to the altitude.

Distance: 16 km · about 6–7 hours walking

Day3

Point Lenana Summit & Down the Chogoria Route

Climb to Point Lenana (4,985 m) in time for sunrise and take photos from the top. After sunrise, descend to meet the team on the way to Mintos Camp, where you stop for breakfast. Then continue down the Chogoria Route for about 5 hours, with views over the gorge valley, to Mt Kenya Anabas Lodge for a hot shower, dinner and overnight.

Distance: 26 km · 12+ hours – the longest day of the trek

Day4

Anabas Lodge to Chogoria & Nairobi

After breakfast (7:00–8:00 am), say farewell to the crew and walk through the forest to meet your vehicle at Chogoria village, then drive back to Nairobi for drop-off at your hotel or the airport.

Distance: 8 km · about 2 hours walking

The safari with Daydream Safaris was truly perfect! From the planning and the choice of accommodations to the drives between the national parks, it was wonderful in every way.
Kennedy really thought of everything and put together a great package with Daydream Safaris.
Our guide, Jackson, was friendly, funny, and had eagle eyes—no animal escaped his notice. We got to see all kinds of animals, from elephants and rhinos to predators. And all up close!
For another trip to Kenya or another safari, I highly recommend Kennedy and especially Jackson, because they gave my friends and me an unforgettable trip! Thank you so much!

We had an amazing 10-day safari with Day Dream Safari. Our guide, Jackson, was incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and always determined to find the best wildlife sightings while making sure we had a great time throughout the trip.

The accommodations and food exceeded our expectations, and everything was well organized from start to finish. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Highly recommend Day Dream Safari to anyone planning a trip to the Masai Mara.

Three parks, one unforgettable journey. At Amboseli, herds of elephants strolled across the dust with Mount Kilimanjaro rising behind them, a scene so perfect I kept thinking someone had painted it. At Lake Nakuru, the shoreline blushed pink with flamingos, and we spotted rhinos grazing nearby. Then came the Masai Mara, where the plains seemed to go on forever and every drive felt like a nature documentary, with lions on the hunt, cheetahs on the prowl.

But what made this trip truly special was our guide- Mr Jackson, a truly living legend. He had a sharp eye for spotting animals, endless stories about the wildlife and the land, and a way of finding the perfect spot at the perfect moment. His patience, humour and passion turned good sightings into moments I'll be retelling for years. We never felt rushed, and we always felt very looked after.

Although the journey just flew by, and I came home with thousands of photos, dusty boots and a heart full of gratitude. Amazing doesn't cover it. If Kenya is on your list, don't wait. Go, and go with this team. I am already planning to rebook again soon.

From the group, thank you Daydream and the team for the memorable trip. See you again soon.
