An hour with the mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Our gorilla treks take place in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in south-western Uganda, home to around half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Start from Kampala, Entebbe or Kigali in Rwanda.
Meet the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers at the park office for a short briefing on the gorilla family and trekking etiquette.
Follow your rangers and trackers through dense, misty forest. Depending on where the family is, the walk can take from one to several hours.
Spend up to an hour with a habituated gorilla family, watching them feed, play and rest just metres away.
Return to your lodge to rest, share stories and look through your photos of a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.
