Tour Overview

This private safari combines the open savannah of Queen Elizabeth National Park with gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You cross the equator on the drive west, see the Rwenzori Mountains on clear days, and go on game drives across the Kasenyi Plains, with the option of a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel.

From Queen Elizabeth you drive south to Bwindi for two nights. On trekking day, Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers lead you through the forest to a habituated gorilla family, and you spend one unforgettable hour with them.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day1

Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Your driver-guide picks you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe in the morning. Drive west to Queen Elizabeth National Park, with a stop at the equator and lunch on the way in Fort Portal or Mbarara. On clear days you can see the Rwenzori Mountains. In the evening, set out on a game drive on the Kasenyi Plains or along the Queen’s Mile.

Day2

Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi

Start early with a morning game drive on the Kasenyi Plains, when the animals are most active. If you like, you can add a two-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel (optional). After lunch, drive south for about 4 to 5 hours to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where you check in at your lodge for the next two nights.

Day3

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

After an early breakfast, go to the park office for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Then head into the forest to find your assigned gorilla family. The trek can take from 30 minutes to 5 hours, depending on where the gorillas are. Once you find them, you spend one hour watching them. In the afternoon you can join an optional community cultural walk before returning to your lodge.

Day4

Bwindi to Kampala or Entebbe

After breakfast, take a short nature walk around the edge of the forest. Then drive back to Kampala or Entebbe (about 10 hours) with a lunch stop on the way, or take a scheduled flight from Kihihi airstrip. Your driver-guide drops you at your hotel or the airport.

The safari with Daydream Safaris was truly perfect! From the planning and the choice of accommodations to the drives between the national parks, it was wonderful in every way.
Kennedy really thought of everything and put together a great package with Daydream Safaris.
Our guide, Jackson, was friendly, funny, and had eagle eyes—no animal escaped his notice. We got to see all kinds of animals, from elephants and rhinos to predators. And all up close!
For another trip to Kenya or another safari, I highly recommend Kennedy and especially Jackson, because they gave my friends and me an unforgettable trip! Thank you so much!

We had an amazing 10-day safari with Day Dream Safari. Our guide, Jackson, was incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and always determined to find the best wildlife sightings while making sure we had a great time throughout the trip.

The accommodations and food exceeded our expectations, and everything was well organized from start to finish. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Three parks, one unforgettable journey. At Amboseli, herds of elephants strolled across the dust with Mount Kilimanjaro rising behind them, a scene so perfect I kept thinking someone had painted it. At Lake Nakuru, the shoreline blushed pink with flamingos, and we spotted rhinos grazing nearby. Then came the Masai Mara, where the plains seemed to go on forever and every drive felt like a nature documentary, with lions on the hunt, cheetahs on the prowl.

But what made this trip truly special was our guide- Mr Jackson, a truly living legend. He had a sharp eye for spotting animals, endless stories about the wildlife and the land, and a way of finding the perfect spot at the perfect moment. His patience, humour and passion turned good sightings into moments I'll be retelling for years. We never felt rushed, and we always felt very looked after.

Although the journey just flew by, and I came home with thousands of photos, dusty boots and a heart full of gratitude. Amazing doesn't cover it. If Kenya is on your list, don't wait. Go, and go with this team. I am already planning to rebook again soon.
