Tour Overview

This eight-day safari is built around the Great Wildebeest Migration. After a first night in Tarangire, known for its elephant herds and giant baobab trees, you spend four nights in the Serengeti: two on the central plains and two further north, or in the Ndutu area in the south, depending on where the herds are at the time of your visit.

Along the way you have good chances of seeing the Big Five, cheetahs, giraffes and many species of birds. The safari ends with two nights in the Ngorongoro area and a full day exploring the crater, before you return to Arusha.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day1

Arusha to Tarangire

Your driver-guide picks you up from your hotel in Arusha at 8:00 am for the 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, with a packed lunch. Start your game drive on arrival. Tarangire is known for its migrating elephant herds and giant baobab trees, and is also home to African wild dogs, buffaloes, lions, leopards and many species of birds. In the evening, go to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day2

Tarangire to the Serengeti

After breakfast, check out and drive to Serengeti National Park (about 4 hours), with a game drive on the way. The Serengeti is famous for the wildebeest migration and its endless savannah. Start your game drive on arrival, with lunch out in the park or at your lodge, and continue with an evening game drive before dinner and overnight.

Day3

Full Day in the Central Serengeti

Spend a full day exploring the central Serengeti. Choose a morning game drive with a picnic breakfast and a late-afternoon drive, or stay out all day with a picnic lunch. Look for the Big Five, cheetahs, giraffes, warthogs and many species of birds, and follow the wildebeest migration when it is in the area. Return to your lodge around 5 to 6 pm for dinner.

Day4

Central to Northern Serengeti

After breakfast, set off with a packed lunch for the northern Serengeti to follow the wildebeest migration. Start your game drive on arrival and have lunch in the bush, then continue to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Day5

Full Day Following the Migration

Spend another full day on game drives, either in the northern Serengeti or in the Ndutu area of the southern Serengeti, depending on where the wildebeest migration is at the time of your visit. Stay out until late in the afternoon, then return to your camp for dinner.

Day6

Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, check out and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater area, with a game drive on the way through the Serengeti. Check in at your lodge in the Ngorongoro area for dinner and overnight.

Day7

Full Day in the Ngorongoro Crater

Wake up at 6:00 am for coffee or tea, then head out with a packed breakfast for a morning game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, or in the Ndutu area depending on where the migration is. Around noon, return to the lodge for lunch and a rest, then go out again for an evening game drive. Dinner is served at the lodge.

Day8

Ngorongoro to Arusha

After breakfast, check out and drive back to Arusha, where your driver-guide drops you at your hotel or the airport.

The safari with Daydream Safaris was truly perfect! From the planning and the choice of accommodations to the drives between the national parks, it was wonderful in every way.
Kennedy really thought of everything and put together a great package with Daydream Safaris.
Our guide, Jackson, was friendly, funny, and had eagle eyes—no animal escaped his notice. We got to see all kinds of animals, from elephants and rhinos to predators. And all up close!
For another trip to Kenya or another safari, I highly recommend Kennedy and especially Jackson, because they gave my friends and me an unforgettable trip! Thank you so much!

We had an amazing 10-day safari with Day Dream Safari. Our guide, Jackson, was incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and always determined to find the best wildlife sightings while making sure we had a great time throughout the trip.

The accommodations and food exceeded our expectations, and everything was well organized from start to finish. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Highly recommend Day Dream Safari to anyone planning a trip to the Masai Mara.

Three parks, one unforgettable journey. At Amboseli, herds of elephants strolled across the dust with Mount Kilimanjaro rising behind them, a scene so perfect I kept thinking someone had painted it. At Lake Nakuru, the shoreline blushed pink with flamingos, and we spotted rhinos grazing nearby. Then came the Masai Mara, where the plains seemed to go on forever and every drive felt like a nature documentary, with lions on the hunt, cheetahs on the prowl.

But what made this trip truly special was our guide- Mr Jackson, a truly living legend. He had a sharp eye for spotting animals, endless stories about the wildlife and the land, and a way of finding the perfect spot at the perfect moment. His patience, humour and passion turned good sightings into moments I'll be retelling for years. We never felt rushed, and we always felt very looked after.

Although the journey just flew by, and I came home with thousands of photos, dusty boots and a heart full of gratitude. Amazing doesn't cover it. If Kenya is on your list, don't wait. Go, and go with this team. I am already planning to rebook again soon.

From the group, thank you Daydream and the team for the memorable trip. See you again soon.
