Tour Overview

This fly-in safari adds Tanzania’s two best-known wildlife areas to a stay on Zanzibar without long road transfers. You fly from Zanzibar to the Serengeti, where two nights give you a game drive on arrival and a full day on the plains, looking for lions, cheetahs, leopards and, depending on the season, the Great Migration.

From there your driver-guide takes you up into the green Ngorongoro highlands for a night near the crater. The next morning you descend onto the crater floor to look for lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, flamingos and black rhino, before a short drive to the Lake Manyara airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day1

Fly from Zanzibar to the Serengeti

Transfer from your Zanzibar hotel to the airport for your scheduled light-aircraft flight to the Serengeti, usually with a short stop in Arusha. Your driver-guide meets you at the airstrip and you game drive on the way to your camp. After lunch and a rest, set out on an afternoon game drive until sunset.

Day2

Full Day in the Serengeti

A full day exploring the Serengeti’s plains, river valleys and granite kopjes, with a picnic lunch in the bush so you can follow the wildlife wherever it moves. Look for lions resting on the rocks, cheetahs on the open grass, leopards in the trees along the Seronera River, and elephants and giraffes. Depending on the season, your guide may head towards the Great Migration herds. At dawn you can add an optional hot-air balloon flight.

Day3

Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Start with an early morning game drive in the Serengeti, then return to camp for breakfast. Game drive on the way out of the park and drive up into the Ngorongoro highlands, with an optional stop at Olduvai Gorge, one of the world’s most important sites for early human fossils. Arrive at your lodge on the crater rim or in Karatu in the afternoon.

Day4

Ngorongoro Crater and Fly to Zanzibar

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive on the crater floor, looking for lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, flamingos and black rhino, with a picnic lunch in the crater. Climb out in the early afternoon and drive to the Lake Manyara airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar (usually via Arusha). On arrival you are transferred to your hotel.

The safari with Daydream Safaris was truly perfect! From the planning and the choice of accommodations to the drives between the national parks, it was wonderful in every way.
Kennedy really thought of everything and put together a great package with Daydream Safaris.
Our guide, Jackson, was friendly, funny, and had eagle eyes—no animal escaped his notice. We got to see all kinds of animals, from elephants and rhinos to predators. And all up close!
For another trip to Kenya or another safari, I highly recommend Kennedy and especially Jackson, because they gave my friends and me an unforgettable trip! Thank you so much!

We had an amazing 10-day safari with Day Dream Safari. Our guide, Jackson, was incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and always determined to find the best wildlife sightings while making sure we had a great time throughout the trip.

The accommodations and food exceeded our expectations, and everything was well organized from start to finish. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Three parks, one unforgettable journey. At Amboseli, herds of elephants strolled across the dust with Mount Kilimanjaro rising behind them, a scene so perfect I kept thinking someone had painted it. At Lake Nakuru, the shoreline blushed pink with flamingos, and we spotted rhinos grazing nearby. Then came the Masai Mara, where the plains seemed to go on forever and every drive felt like a nature documentary, with lions on the hunt, cheetahs on the prowl.

But what made this trip truly special was our guide- Mr Jackson, a truly living legend. He had a sharp eye for spotting animals, endless stories about the wildlife and the land, and a way of finding the perfect spot at the perfect moment. His patience, humour and passion turned good sightings into moments I'll be retelling for years. We never felt rushed, and we always felt very looked after.

Although the journey just flew by, and I came home with thousands of photos, dusty boots and a heart full of gratitude. Amazing doesn't cover it. If Kenya is on your list, don't wait. Go, and go with this team. I am already planning to rebook again soon.
