A quieter, scenic approach from the west across the whole Shira Plateau, joining the southern circuit at Lava Tower and Barranco for a well-acclimatised climb to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m).

The Lemosho Route starts on the remote western side of Kilimanjaro at the Londorossi Gate and climbs through quiet rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp, then crosses the entire Shira Plateau. From Lava Tower it follows the southern circuit via the Barranco Wall, Karanga and Barafu Camp for the summit night to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), and descends on the Mweka Route. With eight days on the mountain, it gives you plenty of time to acclimatise.
Your private climb is led by an experienced guide with a cook and porters. All meals on the mountain, park fees and transfers from and back to your hotel in Moshi are included.
Pick-up from your hotel in Moshi and drive west to the Londorossi Gate (2,250 m) to register for the climb, then continue to the Lemosho trailhead. Walk through untouched rainforest with your guide to Mti Mkubwa (‘Big Tree’) Camp.
